Biografie

Ron Brand (geboren in 1960) is gespecialiseerd in de Nederlandse zeeschilderkunst van de zeventiende eeuw. Hij was lange tijd hoofd van de bibliotheek
van het Maritiem Museum Rotterdam en is nu sinds 2011 conservator. Hij studeerde kunstgeschiedenis aan de Universiteit Leiden. In 1995 studeerde hij af met een doctoraalscriptie over de Haarlemse zeeschilder Cornelis Claesz. van Wieringen (circa 1580-1633).

Biography

Ron Brand (born in 1960) is specialized in the Dutch marine painting of the seventheenth century. He was head
of the library of the Maritiem Museum Rotterdam and is now curator since 2011. He studied history of art at the Leiden University. In 1995 he finished his study with a thesis on the Haarlem marine painter Cornelis Claesz. van Wieringen (circa 1580-1633).
